It’s been a slow weekend. And that’s a good thing.
Friday night, Katy and I had dinner at Fiesta Azteca. I had the poblano fish and she had a shrimp chimichanga with queso.
On Saturday, Brandon Briscoe called. A while back, he offered me the Wurlitzer organ at his mom’s house. He was calling to tell me that he was moving his mom and step-dad and wanted to drop it off. By that afternoon, I had a new organ and was recording with it.
We listened to David Bowie’s Heathen on the way to church today. (The irony was not lost on me. It reminded me of when we were dating, though, as I bought the album with her in Dayton around the time of its release.) At Katy’s behest, had lunch at Mama’s on 39th. (But trust me, it didn’t take much arm-twisting to convince me to pull into their parking lot.) We got home and napped to the falling snow.
I wish I could bottle up the past three days and keep it for later.
